RECEIVING

Managing inbound faxes is simple and versatile. You can receive faxes on an analog fax machine, view and download them through the PBX web portal, or have them conveniently delivered directly to your email. This flexibility ensures seamless integration into your workflow.

Setup and management of the Instant Fax ATA are handled through the SkySwitch Dashboard’s Manage DID portal for seamless configuration.

Unlike traditional methods like T.38 or G711 pass-through, which can falter under latency and jitter, the Store-and-Forward ATA solution ensures reliable fax transmission by buffering faxes before delivery to the analog fax machine. This approach overcomes common network challenges, making it ideal for heavy fax users.

Outbound (Termination) Calls:

Faxes from a local fax machine are intercepted and stored by the ATA, then transmitted to the SkySwitch data center’s fax server using the same robust protocol. From there, they are sent to the PSTN via high-bandwidth SIP connections.

Inbound (DID) Calls:

Faxes are received at the SkySwitch data center, eliminating last-mile latency and jitter concerns, via a Store-and-Forward fax server. They are then transferred to the ATA using a reliable file transfer protocol and relayed to a local fax machine through standard RJ-11 cabling.
